Nexium 24HR Tablets are used to relieve your reflux symptoms such as heartburn, acid regurgitation, and acid-related muscular pain which occur together during the acid reflux process. When heartburn or acid regurgitation occurs, the food and water expel back into the digestive system which can lead to a condition called gastroesophageal reflux. This condition occurs when acid flows out of the stomach along with the food. It can cause discomfort and embarrassment.
Elevated heartburn and acid regurgitation are symptoms of heartburn which occur when the lining of the esophagus (the area of the mouth or stomach that receives the food from) becomes severely inflamed. Acidosis is when there is no relief from the symptoms.
Nexium 24HR Tablets should be taken with a low-calorie, low-fat meal, around 30 minutes before your next meal of the day. It is important to take them at least 30 minutes, but no more than 4 hours apart from normal daily use. The maximum recommended time to take Nexium 24HR Tablets is 24 hours.
